Norever Fow: Contemporary Painting in an Atemporal World
Featured
Norever Fow is a fantastical survey of contemporary painting, in direct response to MOMA’s 2015 show The Forever Now: Contemporary Painting in an Atemporal World. The title of each image has been appropriated from the list of “Highest Known Prices Paid for Paintings” on Wikipedia, in 2016. This series of painting/photograph/postcards investigate framed moments of value, as they self-construct in late-stage capitalism, in order to contribute to a broader dialogue about beauty's reliance on place and naming. The photographs, which were shot on an Iphone6, are printed as postcards and were displayed in a standing (tourist's) postcard rack at Less Space Gallery in Oakland, CA.
